Costas and Marina Tsiakka founded Tsiakkas winery in 1998 in the village of Pelendri, in the biodiverse Pitsilia winemaking region. Dotted around Pitsilia, the winery’s vineyards are located at an average altitude of 1200 meters. The winery planted the highest vineyard in Cyprus in 2010, at 1460 meters. Recognizing that the local terroir is unique, the winery celebrates this individuality by carefully selecting and developing their vineyards to respect nature. This philosophy resulted in organic cultivation since 1995, and the winery’s certification with EMAS in 2012. Today, the winery has 13 hectares of privately owned vineyards, Whilst the rest is sourced from a closely knit network of local farmers. The winery is led by the second generation, Orestis Tsiakkas & Ektoras Tsiakkas, Winemaker and viticulturist respectively both devoted to carrying forward the winery's visionary mission. The wines have been awarded globally multiple times -a representative example being Promara 2020, which was voted one of the 100 best wines in the world, by the Decanter wine magazine.
