The winery is situated in the village of Kyperounda, at an elevation of 1200 meters, with vineyards extending up to 1400 meters. This altitude makes it one of the highest wineries in Europe and worldwide. Winemaking started in the late 1990s when local growers decided to fully utilize the important viticultural potential of the area. Their vision was shared and backed by the Photos Photiades family. Today, Kyperounda owns 20 hectares of vineyards and sources high-quality grapes from a closely knit group of farmers. The premium wines created by its respected winemaker, Minas Mina, are distinctive and characteristic of Cyprus.
